I volunteer at the Portland Temple as an engineer as well as with a local hospice organization, visiting with patients. I care about and am conscientiously involved in the lives of my children and grandchildren, and visit as often as practical. I keep fit walking, cycling, hiking, gardening and other outdoor activities. In addition to my engineering background, I taught mathematics at the community college and university level.
I was married for 37 years before my wife passed due to cancer. Our marriage deepened and grew stronger in those last years more than at any other time. I loved being married, would like to be married again and enjoy the symbiotic relationship of trusting, working, living, loving and repenting together. To borrow from Yogi Berra, if marriage were perfect, it wouldn't be.

I have a lot of interests to round out my life: photography, astronomy, gardening, dancing, ham radio, reading, writing, home and auto maintenance and genealogy. I sang with the Portland Choir and Orchestra and am a licensed pyrotechnic, firing 4th of July shows for communities around the NorthWest.
